Do you live each day focused on excuses? Or are you instead focused on achievement?
If you’re focused on excuses, you won’t even make an attempt unless you’re sure you’ll get it perfect. When you’re focused on achievement, though you may not get it completely perfect, you will get it done.
If you’re focused on excuses, the slightest obstacle will stop you cold. When you’re focused on achievement, you’ll work your way through any challenge.
If you’re focused on excuses, you’ll avoid unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations. When you’re focused on achievement, you’ll seek out new, invigorating circumstances and will find great value in them.
Excuses sound reasonable, and enable you to be temporarily satisfied with yourself for doing nothing more than thinking them up. In the long run, though, excuses can bury you under a mountain of missed opportunities.
Let go of the easy excuses, and grab on to a burning desire for meaningful achievement. Focus not on excuses, but on real achievement, and you’ll bring a profusion of that great, satisfying achievement into your world.

This weekend, we moved into our new home, located at 2409 Post Office. The new space is huge, and beautiful. Our community member and well known local artist, Gabe Prusmak, has been hard at work making the space beautiful with his original and creative wall paintings. Our rig is almost three times the size of the original, and we've got brand new bathrooms that are air conditioned! The list goes on and on with all the great changes. I just can't say enough good things about this move, and we hope you are as excited as us to continue your health journey in this great new space. There's still a bit of work to be done as we better organize the area and add new equipment, but we're fully functional and looking forward to how we grow with all this new room.
If you still haven't tried CrossFit, there's no better time than now. Come join us in breaking in our new building and feel the support of our community!
We all know that water is essential to life. A human being can go for weeks without food, but only three or four days without water.. Our bodies are constantly losing water, and drinking a couple of glasses of water a day is not nearly enough to keep us hydrated. Under extreme conditions, an adult can lose up to 1.5 liters of sweat PER HOUR! If you aren't sufficiently hydrated, your body's ability to regulate your core temperature (through perspiration) is decreased. When you can't sweat, your body temperature can rise to dangerous levels.
As CrossFit athletes, we lose even more water - through excessive perspiration and breathing, increased metabolism, and water retention in our recovering muscles. The recommended daily amount is half of your body weight in ounces, but you really should have more than that if you are working out, especially in a warmer climate. Drink up for your health!
This week, our box started a nutrition challenge, with "The Zone" way of eating as our basis for the challenge. Some of Crossfit's best performers are Zone eaters. We also encourage participants to set goals for themselves, and hope this challenge becomes a lifestyle choice for our CFG athletes, and not "just another diet".
If you want to learn more about The Zone, there are hundreds of sites out there with detailed information. Or come in, try a free class, and ask us!
We are busting at the seams! Our current location has served us well since April 2013, but it can no longer contain the exponential growth we've seen since then. Our membership has almost doubled in the last year and while we love the closeness these four walls requires, sometimes it can get a little hectic in here!
We expect to be moving to our new location, near 25th and Post Office in the next couple weeks. The building is a huge warehouse, with 4400 square feet, off street parking, and air conditioned restrooms with two showers.
Oh...and did I mention that our neighbors are a pizza joint and a brewery? Can you think of anything that goes better with CrossFit?
